Internet Drug Dosing. Can It Really Be Possible?

A new form of high for kids now- a-days is a little thing called i-dosing also known as a “digital drug”. This type of internet drug usage is a mind altering sound, which can be easily found with a simple search on Google or even You Tube, is the next big “drug” craze among teens today. Is it really possible to get high from a noise? I didn’t think so, but according to authorities in a few cities, these internet savvy teenagers have been doing this for a few years now. Downloading digital drugs is an addiction and can lead to the real thing!



We have all known some type of music that can alter your mood. Sad songs can make you cry, upbeat songs may give you an energy boost. But these websites that are available for kids to download this digital drug that has audio files are supposed to induce a drug like effect. The instructions require you to lie down, close your eyes and put on headphones. Now, the reason for the headphones is so that you can hear the binaural audio that is being produced. Without headphones, the slight difference in the two frequencies is perceived by the listener as a single tone that wavers slightly and you will not be able to feel the effect. There are different sounds that are played in each ear that your brain is to process. Your brain then combines the sound to create new frequencies then the brainwave frequency is what produces the narcotics effect, such as cocaine, ecstasy, marijuana, alcohol, even crack. I even found ones that supposedly simulate heaven and hell.

While on these digital drug sites I found there are different types of digital drugs that you have the option of downloading. Some binaural beats claim to help you develop extrasensory powers, like telepathy and psycho kinesis. There are also therapeutic binaural beats that will help you relax or meditate. Then they have a digital drug that is supposed to help you overcome addiction or anxiety and even one to help you lose weight or eliminate gray hair. Unbelievable, right?

Companies that sell i-doses claim that it is safe, non-addictive, and will not affect your physical health. But if the purpose of listening to the binaural beats is to get the same affect of illegal drugs that cause symptoms such as impaired coordination, hallucinations and so forth, how can this be safe? If i-dosing works as it marketed to be, then it is not safe. At the very least, digital drugs promote drug use. It could be a small jump from digital drugs to the real thing, especially since these sites are targeting our children.

Many are skeptical about the effects of digital drugs. Some users may be immune to binaural beats, but the situation must be right to feel the effects. Few scientific studies have been conducted on binaural beats. However, a Duke University study suggests that they can affect mood and motor performance. He did note that musical preference is indicative of emotional vulnerability. Trying i-dosing could indicate willingness to experiment with drugs and other dangerous behavior.

This may involve group therapy or one on one therapy with a counselor.
